According to Intabaco (May 2025), Dominican tobacco is exported to 148 countries for about US$1.34 billion a year, including US$996 million to the United States. For premium cigars alone, the Cigar Association of America counts 106 million units imported into the United States in 2024 (-1.8%). The Santiago region and the Cibao valley are home to large factories.
