Bauza revives the name of an old Cuban brand, never exported and smoked only on the island, says Oscar Boruchin. In 1990, Boruchin bought a small distribution house in Miami linked to the Fuente family and relaunched Bauza with Carlos Fuente Sr.: the brand has since belonged to the Arturo Fuente family, who manufacture it themselves, while Boruchin handles its distribution in the United States, he says. The cigars are shaped at Tabacalera A. Fuente, the factory the Fuente family opened in September 1980 in Santiago de los Caballeros, in the Dominican Republic, after leaving Nicaragua; there they are rolled by the same torcedores as the Arturo Fuente cigars, says Holt's Cigar.

The current range wears an Ecuador Sumatra Sun-grown wrapper on Dominican binder and filler, for a medium-full profile of cedar, grain, toasted nuts and leather, with a touch of sweetness, says Holt's Cigar, which sells two sizes in September 2026, Petit Corona and Pyramid; a Casa Grande (6.75 x 48), with the same wrapper, has circulated at another retailer but is no longer for sale there in September 2026.
