Ferio Tego

Ferio Tego was born of another house's ending. In 2020 Altria closed Nat Sherman's cigar division after ninety years — that Fifth Avenue address this atlas still holds. Two of the house's own then bought the brands and their intellectual property from the group: Michael Herklots, who had been its vice-president, and Brendon Scott. Ferio Tego appeared in early 2021.

The name comes from the Herklots family coat of arms. It translates as "strike and defend".

What they bought were blends others were already rolling — and they kept the same hands. Metropolitan was composed in the mid-1990s by the Quesada family for Nat Sherman; it still comes out of their Tabacos de Exportación, at Licey. The Timeless collection is split in two: Prestige and Sterling at Quesada, Panamericana and Supreme at Plasencia, in Estelí.

Quesada and Plasencia are both in this atlas, and so is Nat Sherman. This entry is Dominican because Quesada's share is the larger one — Metropolitan and half of Timeless — but the atlas writes the split rather than hiding it.
