On its website, Domenico Cigars describes itself as a small factory in Punta Cana, founded in 2001 and under Swiss management. The house gives the address of its factory as Avenida Estados Unidos, in Bávaro, and, for its Swiss management, Matthias Richner, in Oberhasli, with a showroom in Regensdorf. It does not name its founder on the introduction page of its website. Cigarworld.de says Michaela Ströml was born in Austria; Smokersplanet.de (29 November 2021) says she came from Germany and is a German owner; in September 2026, Starke Zigarren speaks of an expatriate Austrian woman who ran the factory and says that a Swiss man is behind Domenico.
According to the house, each cigar takes more than 40 steps by hand and a tabaquero rolls about 120 a day, where the large factories demand 170 to 250 on piecework; it says it employs only master tabaqueros trained for at least three years. It says its tobacco is planted in the Cibao Valley, north of Santiago, and that its rollers blend Dominican tobaccos and Cuban tobaccos grown on Dominican soil. Smokersplanet.de counts eleven employees in November 2021.
In September 2026, the house's website says that the factory offers visits, and its shop lists forty-five items. The house arranges its cigars in lines: Suave, which it says is mild, with a Connecticut/Ecuador Shade wrapper; Fuerte, with a Broadleaf wrapper; and limited editions with a Sumatra wrapper. Cigarworld.de dates the brand's entry into its catalogue to 10 September 2012.
