Hiram & Solomon

Hiram & Solomon is a brand written for Freemasons, by Freemasons: Hiram Abiff, the legendary architect of the Temple, and Solomon, the king who had it built. Fouad Kashouty and George Dakrat founded it in 2015, and the lines are named like the degrees and offices of the lodge — Entered Apprentice, Fellow Craft, Master Mason, Grand Architect, Shriner, Veiled Prophet, Traveling Man. The idea, the house says, is that brothers can gather around a cigar. The entry has no opinion on the idea; it notes that it has been kept for ten years.

What this atlas must establish is who rolls. The house began in the Dominican Republic, then entrusted a large share of its production to Plasencia. In 2021, Fouad and Romy Kashouty began composing with Abe Flores, the master blender of PDR Cigars, in Tamboril — Curamus in February 2021, then Châbal, Revival and Sublime Prince 32 in early 2022. In June 2022, two weeks after the end of its fulfillment agreement with Blanco Cigars, the house announced that its entire portfolio was moving to PDR. Flores told the trade press that they had wanted to work with him alone, with no other factory.

This atlas's PDR entry already names it; this one closes the loop. Entered Apprentice and Veiled Prophet have a particularity few entries can write: Paraguayan tobacco in the blend.
