Holt's Cigar Company is a cigar retailer in Philadelphia, whose founding the house dates to 1898. The company history published by encyclopedia.com dates that founding to 1911 and says H.A. Tint & Sons, which Robert Levin bought in 1980, was established in 1898. Albert and Jean Levin bought Holt's in 1957; their son Robert took over its management in 1974 and launched Ashton in 1985, says the house. Listed on the stock exchange in November 1997, the company announced in November 2000 its return to private ownership: Robert Levin then held about 45% of it and Fuente Investment Partnership about 29%, says encyclopedia.com.
In October 2026, the house describes itself as run by the Levin family since the 1950s: Sathya Levin, son of Robert, is chairman and chief executive officer, and his sister Meera Levin vice-president of international sales. Its website presents two shops in Philadelphia, Holt's Center City and Holt's Northeast (humidor, bar and lounge), and online sales. Ashton and Holt's House Selection are rolled at Arturo Fuente, at Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia, in the Dominican Republic, says the house, which adds that the family relaunched La Aroma de Cuba in the early 2000s, rolled in Estelí at My Father Cigars S.A.
Twenty brands from its catalogue, including All In!, Argyle, Babalu and Castano, are sold in bundles or in boxes of twenty. The house says they are handmade in the Dominican Republic, except Benchmade, handmade in Estelí, Nicaragua (for Bella Cuba and Angry Elf, it is its staff's opinions that say so); it speaks of boutique factories and artisan rollers, without naming any factory.
