God of Fire is the cigar brand of Keith K. Park, founder and president of Prometheus, a house of lighters, ashtrays and humidors that dreamed of its own line of cigars, says the house. The name was born in spring 2002, during the shooting in the Dominican Republic of the documentary The Fuente Family: An American Dream, which Park was producing: he was called God of Fire there, in allusion to Prometheus, and Carlito Fuente suggested that he make it a brand name. The opportunity came in spring 2003, at a dinner between Park and Carlito Fuente in the Dominican Republic; the first cigars appeared in 2004, with Prometheus humidors in a limited edition.

The cigars are made by hand at Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia., on a Dominican binder and filler, the wrapper varying with the blend, says the house; the factory belongs to the Fuente family, who opened it in Santiago de los Caballeros in September 1980, says Wikipedia; the brand, for its part, belongs to Park. The second band carries the year of manufacture.

In September 2026, the house has six blends: KKP Never Back Down, KKP Special Reserve, Serie B, Serie Aniversario, By Don Carlos and By Carlito. The Special Reserve was born in 2022 for the thirtieth anniversary of Prometheus, the Never Back Down in 2024 for the twentieth of the brand; for 2026, the house announces a Diademas Selection of each of the two, ahead of the thirty-fifth anniversary of Prometheus, in 2027.
