A single workshop still making by hand — Culemborg
Annual Revenue
No figures: Van der Donk sells to some forty Dutch shops. The rest of the country — Kampen, Eindhoven, Agio, De Olifant — is machine-made cigars, outside this atlas.
Manufacturers
- Van der Donk Sigaren (Culemborg)
Sommelier Note
The Netherlands rolled cigars from the late eighteenth century, with Java and Sumatra tobacco from their colonies; around 1850 almost every town had its small factories, and Kampen counted more than a hundred and twenty. What remains is a machine industry and one Culemborg workshop still working by hand, with no successor announced. This atlas opens it for that one — a rolling place, not a growing country.
