Warped was born of a wish to revive names of pre-1960 Cuban brands that had fallen into oblivion, and to fill them with contemporary blends. Kyle Gellis, its founder, discovered the trade by crossing Miami every week during his studies to watch the rollers of Little Havana; it was at El Titan de Bronze that he made his first cigars.

He works without a factory of his own. His ranges come out of two very different workshops — TABSA, in Estelí, and El Titan de Bronze in Miami — and use Aganorsa leaf. That double anchoring gives the brand an unusual palette for its size.

The style favours slender formats and entubado bunching, an old method in which each filler leaf is rolled on itself before assembly: slower and costlier, it opens the draw and lengthens the smoke. It is a technical choice consistent with what the house is after — length on the palate rather than immediate power.

The series are short, often announced without warning, and sold out in a few weeks. It is a brand for informed smokers — the one you discover through a conversation rather than through a shop window.

Edition One is the name of Edition One, Inc., the company of Kyle Gellis, founder of Warped, and of his younger brother Devin. Its only cigar, Cloud Hopper, was quietly launched in 2016 and became known to the public in the summer of 2017, says Cigar Wars. In October 2026, warpedcigars.com presents it among the Warped brands, made at TABSA with Kyle Gellis as blender, without the name Edition One; Neptune Cigar sells it, handmade in Nicaragua, under the name Edition One Cloud Hopper, and Cigars Direct under the name Warped Cloud Hopper.
