Skull 77 is a brand of Laurent Taha, whom Zigarrenversand.ch presents as the man behind it and whose name rauchr.de writes Tahla. Zigarrenversand.ch says it was founded on 7 July 2014, the date from which the 77 comes. According to rauchr.de, Tahla, who has been involved with cigars and taste for more than twenty years, meets, at a tasting in 2014, Marc Niehaus, whom he presents as the owner of Vegas de Santiago Cigars; the two become friends and develop the blend with a blendmaster in a premium cigar factory in Costa Rica.
Cigarworld.de and rauchr.de give Tabacos de Costa Rica S.A. as manufacturer and Casagranda Cigars GmbH, in Esslingen, as importer; Zigarrenversand.ch speaks of the Vegas de Santiago factory, in Costa Rica. Casdagli writes that its cooperation with Tabacos de Costa Rica SA, then known as Vegas Santiago, began in 2012; Cigar Coop places the Tabacos de Costa Rica factory in Santiago de Puriscal.
