MOSI — Moderno Opificio del Sigaro Italiano — is the house that broke, in Veneto, the Tuscan monopoly of the Italian cigar. Cesare Pietrella founded it in 2013; the Orsago factory, in the province of Treviso, began producing on 3 February 2014, once the procedures were through — for in Italy tobacco is a state matter, and making a cigar outside the Toscano is not straightforward. Its brand, Ambasciator Italico, is made of Italian and American Kentucky.

This atlas does not carry what the house mostly makes: machine cigars, in the Italian tradition. It carries the Ambasciator Italico Storico, hand-rolled, with a long filler of Italian Kentucky from Veneto and Tuscany, its leaves de-stemmed by hand — it is that line, and that line alone, that earns the entry, as the hand-rolled earns Villiger's or Pogar's.

In November 2021, Scandinavian Tobacco Group took a majority of MOSI: the Danish group that already owns General Cigar, Bolívar Honduras, Balmoral and Agio in this atlas bought itself the Italian cigar outside the monopoly. The entry says so, because it is now the same parent as half of Europe's machines.
