Kinix was born in Germany in 2019 out of a meeting between two friends: Jurandi Santos, a native of Honduras and a long-standing cigar enthusiast, persuaded Philipp Noack to launch a house brand with him; the two founded P. Santos Cigars, and the first Kinix cigars reached the market roughly eight months later, says the house's website. The name means king in the Mayan language, and is meant to assert a demand for quality, according to the same source.
The cigars are made entirely by hand in Honduras, with tobacco that is almost exclusively Honduran, says the house; no source found, including its own website, names the factory. The catalogue comprises four lines — Manik, Caban, EB and Ik — each a distinct blend.
The Kinix website has dated nothing since March 2021 — a redesign of the bands and a partnership with the American company Boveda; as of September 2026, German retailers (La Casa del Tabaco, Noblego) still carry it in their catalogues.
