JAMM Cigar was born of a cigar offered in a casino near Niagara Falls: José Antônio Martins Monteiro, a grower of oranges, lemons and tangerines in northern Bahia, met there Joaquim Alfredo Mesquita Moreira, who handed him his first fine cigar. The two friends' initials make the brand's name. He first rolled for himself and for gifts, he says, until the day his accountant showed him what it cost; he made a business of it. The FEANBE farm, bought in 2016 at Alagoinhas, 124 km from Salvador, carries the factory, on the BR-110, founded in 2020 according to the 2022 press and in commercial production since 2021.

The factory was enlarged three times in two years. About a hundred people live from it, directly or not, the press said in 2022; in 2024 it turned out 4,500 cigars a day, 2,500 of them long filler — the rest medium and short filler, which this atlas leaves. The blend marries the Recôncavo's Mata Fina with a Cuban-seed tobacco grown in Brazil; the long lines are called Super Premium, Robusto Premium, Petit Lonsdale, Churchill, Gordito.

It is Brazil's youngest house in this atlas, and already one of the four Apcab counts for the bulk of the country's artisanal segment; its founder sits on the 2026 designation-of-origin project. Alagoinhas is not the Recôncavo — it is further north, outside the Paraguaçu valley — and this atlas opens a zone for it.
