HVC is an acronym, and it says where its founder comes from: Havana City. Reinier Lorenzo is Cuban, from Havana, and he founded the house in 2011.
For ten years he owned nothing. His cigars were rolled at Aganorsa, in Estelí — the house this atlas holds as Aganorsa Leaf, which grows its own leaf. The catalogue rests entirely on that tobacco.
In 2021 he opened his own factory, still in Estelí. It is the step few boutique houses take: having started very small, it now makes close to a million cigars a year. The factoryless model is not always a settled state — sometimes it is a stage.
The names say the same thing as the acronym. Serie A is blended exclusively from Nicaraguan class-A leaf. Pan Caliente takes the Cuban expression for what sells like hot bread, and it is the house's best-selling range.

Serie A
Blended exclusively from Nicaraguan class-A leaf grown by Aganorsa. The name is not a decorative letter: it is the leaf grade.

Robusto · Toro
Hot Cake
The follow-up to Pan Caliente, whose name it translates into English. Same Aganorsa tobacco, a fuller register.
