Flor del Sol, whose name means ‘flower of the sun’, belongs to the Danish group Scandinavian Tobacco Group (STG), which also owns Macanudo and Don Tomas. It is a Honduran medium filler puro, entirely hand-rolled, says Cigarworld; no source found, including the group's own website, names the Honduran factory that rolls it. The group has owned factories in Danlí, Honduras, and Estelí, Nicaragua, since 2009, says Scandinavian Tobacco Group; no source links Flor del Sol to either of them.
The cigar has been on sale in the United States since January 2014, when a tasting blog described it as hand-rolled, medium filler; Cigarworld.de added it to its catalogue on 28 May 2018. The current catalogue lists only one vitola, a medium-bodied Robusto, says Cigarworld.
