Cornelius & Anthony comes from a family that has grown tobacco in Virginia for more than a hundred and fifty years. Steven Bailey launched the brand in 2015; the first cigar, Cornelius, came out in 2016. The name joins his great-great-grandfather's first name — the man who planted and worked on the railroad — with his own middle name.

The house is a subsidiary of S&M Brands, the family company of Keysville, Virginia. The detail matters to this atlas: S&M Brands makes cigarettes and small machine-made cigars, and none of that belongs here. Cornelius & Anthony is the house's other side, the hand-rolled one, and that is the only side the atlas holds.

Two workshops make the cigars, and neither belongs to the family. The larger share comes out of La Zona, Erik Espinosa's factory in Estelí. Cornelius itself — the line carrying the ancestor's name — is rolled in Miami, at El Titan de Bronze. Both have their entry in this atlas.

That the line carrying the most meaning should be the one rolled in Little Havana rather than in Estelí is no accident: El Titan de Bronze works in small runs, to order, and that is what this one needed.
