Compagnia Toscana Sigari

Compagnia Toscana Sigari was born in 2015 in Sansepolcro, in the Tuscan Valtiberina, from an agronomist and grower, Gabriele Zippilli — outside the monopoly that made the Toscano for a century and a half, whose story this atlas tells at the Toscano entry. It is the same cigar, fire-cured Kentucky grown and worked in Tuscany; it is another house, private.

The sigaraie — the trade is feminine in Italy as in Cuba — are trained in-house by two masters with more than thirty years' experience. The premium line, Mastro Tornabuoni, is made entirely by hand, long-filler — the house says it in Spanish, totalmente a mano, like the Cuban formula —, which sets it apart from the ordinary Toscano, with its chopped filler. The house gives itself the mission of keeping the Tuscan tradition, and presents itself in English to foreigners.
