CAO Black is a line from the house of CAO, presented by a retailer (cigarworld.com, October 2026) as CAO's first regular line, without a date. It has an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper and a Nicaraguan binder, over a longfiller of Nicaragua, Honduras and Mexico (cigarplace.biz, cigarworld.com, October 2026).
A retailer (cigarplace.biz, October 2026) says it was first made in Honduras; no page read names the current factory. Not to be confused with CAO Black VR, a separate line with a Brazilian wrapper (Stogie Review, 5 March 2008).
Retailers describe it as medium to medium-full in strength, with notes of cream, cedar and pepper; opinions differ from one retailer to another. The sizes listed by cigarworld.com have proper names: Frontier, Gothic, Bengal, Mosaic, Storm.
The CAO house and its attachment to General Cigar and then to STG are covered on the CAO page; this page does not detail the Black's current factory, for lack of a page.
